ICT Procurement – ACT

The position

This is a key position working within the commercial management function of a Federal Government Department, to assist in a large-scale National project.

You will be working to assist in the establishment of the section’s functions, specially in the area of evaluation of current state, through to the commercial management of vendors, predominantly within the ICT sector. In this role you will either be a leader, or a key member of a project team, in providing procurement advice and development of vendor governance frameworks, providing specialist process and stakeholder management and assist in the development of procurement related artefacts, as required. As a procurement professional, you will assist with complex projects and other key tasks through the evolution of the procurement life cycle and potentially also keep vendors accountable to set deliverables through robust contract and vendor relationship management.

This position requires a sound technical understanding within the broad ICT sector, where you will hold a key position in ensuring that you build sufficient rapport with key stakeholders and deliverables are met to ensure the project meets key milestones, on time.

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and energetic Strategic Consultant to join our Team.

At Proximity, the role of a Strategic Consultant is broad in nature, so perfect for those who have diverse experience within this space and/or are seeking professional variety moving forward. Prior experience working within or with a Federal or State Government department advising on organisational planning & transformation, risk management and compliance, policy, programs, grants and regulation, reviews, investigations and inquiries and/or stakeholder engagement will see you excel in this position.

This position is based in our Canberra office, where you will be a key team member delivering advisory services to predominantly government departments.

Prior experience working for a professional services firm and/or a consultancy where you have also built out additional business opportunities will see you excel in this position.

 

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience and proven capability in the following areas:

  • At least 3 years’ management consulting experience or equivalent experience within a government agency.
  • Experience in reviews, design, planning and transformation, preferably for government sector organisations.
  • Proven ability to provide client-centric solutions to any problem.
  • An innovator who can think outside the standard process to achieve better value outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker that can design and apply strategy through sound tactical decisions and planning.
  • The ability to create process and procedures from a range of sources.
    • Designed, managed, or evaluated grants, projects or programs.
    • Undertaken risk and compliance reviews or designed and implanted risk management frameworks.
    • Analysed data to determine possible solutions to complex problems.

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated and energetic Manager – Client Engagement to undertake a key role in the management of our client base, pursuits, tender and proposal submissions, pricing, and resource management.

This position is based in our Canberra office, reporting to our Senior Manager – Client Engagement. This key role within Proximity’s Business Service Team will contribute to the effective and efficient management of:

  • client engagement and the associated client engagement strategies
  • submission of proposals to strategic and complex tenders
  • project performance management
  • project budget management
  • opportunity identification

    • manage negotiation and post-tender handovers and debriefs
    • established and managed KPIs and performance management framework
    • manage the review of pricing and cost build ups, including all fixed and variable cost elements for varying commercial arrangements
