Commercial Manager – ICT Procurement

Play a pivotal role in a key National priority that is greatly anticipated by the Australian public.

This is a key position working within the commercial management function of a large Federal Government Department, to assist in a large-scale National project that is greatly anticipated by the Australian public.

You will be working to assist in the establishment of the section’s functions, specially in the area of contract and commercial management of vendors, predominantly within the ICT sector. In this role you will be a leader in providing advice and development of governance frameworks, provide updates and insights through reporting and assist in the development of templates, as required.   • Previous experience as a senior consultant who has:
    • managed pre-contract activities, including market and client awareness
    • managed contracts and engagements (resourcing, performance, extensions, invoicing and reporting, transition etc)
    • identified opportunities and has the capacity to cross promote
    • identified and actioned opportunities to increase profile
    • collaborated across functions to develop pursuit plans and responses to complex and strategic tenders
    • developed pricing methodology and manage the development of commercial offers through estimating, financial and operational inputs
    • developed value propositions and win themes
    • manage negotiation and post-tender handovers and debriefs
    • established and managed KPIs and performance management framework
    • manage the review of pricing and cost build ups, including all fixed and variable cost elements for varying commercial arrangements
  • The capacity to develop strong knowledge and understanding of all Proximity service lines and the capability and capacity of the Proximity team.
  • The capacity to synthesis and distil content from various sources into a coherent narrative for proposals.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Very high-level and professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of different people.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the ability to set priorities and work to strict deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
