Commercial experience

Andrew has over 15 years of commercial experience in both public and private sector. He has developed multiple business cases and cost models, led and supported the full procurement lifecycle, conducted several major contract negotiations, and managed a range of contracts, vendors, projects and programs. For example, Andrew has successfully:

• Provided contract and commercial advice and support in the delivery of a $400m Defence ICT acquisition and sustainment program.
• Provided sustainment, acquisition and project support to the Department of Home Affairs across three key maritime projects including negotiation of a sustainment services contract worth $15m over 3 years.
• Procured and negotiated a new wide area network (WAN) services contract for 56 schools at Catholic Education, improving bandwidth by up to 50 times and reducing annual costs by $1.5m.
• Supported the negotiation of two major Defence subcontracts including a $75 million manufacturing contract and a $30 million communications contract
• Procured and managed to completion a consortium of international contractors to conduct a global stocktake of all carbon capture and storage projects covering development status, costs, business case and investment drivers, research networks, regulatory regimes, and key barriers and challenges to commercialisation.

He is an outstanding communicator, relationship builder and stakeholder manager, possessing both public and private sector experience. He has worked with national and foreign governments, multinational and domestic industry, and various not-for-profit and research organisations.

Andrew is passionate about projects that deliver positive societal outcomes and lift organisational capability especially in the areas of renewable energy, sustainability, and education.

When not working, Andrew enjoys time with his family and friends, being out and about in the great outdoors (walking his pampered Cavoodle, cycling, surfing and fishing), and sampling good food and wines.
