Organisational Planning and Transformation experience
Andrew was a pivotal member of the Business Strategy team responsible for setting the long-term direction of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute following its inauguration. Andrew:
- Advised senior management and Board on business models and funding options based on market research, risk analysis, competitor analysis, financial modelling and consultation
- Supported the development of an organisation-wide, inaugural Five-Year Strategic Plan endorsed by the Board
- Led the development of an organisation-wide Annual Business Plan 2013-14 working across three international offices and business functions
- At the direction of the CEO, set and coordinated an international Stakeholder Engagement Strategy covering 29 national governments and over 300 corporations
Andrew was a senior member of Catholic Education’s team responsible for the delivery of an organisation-wide transformation program. As part of this, he:
- Led the Operational Improvement Group, which delivered significant commercial and capability organisational value through developing a business planning practice; designing and implementing a procurement framework; negotiation of a new wide area network (WAN) services contract for 56 schools, improving bandwidth by up to 50 times and reducing annual costs by $1.5m; and negotiation of a new school electricity contract saving $350k per annum;
- Supported the establishment of an organisation-wide transformation program including defining key program areas, formation of the Interim Chief Operating Office (structure, recruitment, definition of roles and responsibilities, etc), and forging external strategic partnerships.
- Business case development, approval and initiation for a major finance transformation program across the whole system.
- Business case development and approval of a multiyear school energy and solar investment program across 56 schools.
- Established a Program Management Office including systems, processes and staffing.
- Led business performance reviews of Catholic Education’s Early Learning business unit and Allied Health Services, securing funding to turn the business unit and services around; improve systems, processes and practices; and improve staff capability and student outcomes.
