He has been a trusted adviser to the most senior levels in public administration.
Don for many years was General Counsel to the Commonwealth department with responsibilities for communications and the arts.
There he played a major role in addressing legal and regulatory issues arising out of projects of national significance such as the sale of Telstra and the establishment of the National Broadband Network.
Over this period Don also played a major role in providing leadership and guidance for in-house counsel in Commonwealth agencies, as an office holder in the Australian Corporate Lawyers’ Association and in interactions with relevant Commonwealth agencies.

He has wide experience in legislative development, both in ACT and Commonwealth jurisdictions. This has been the focus of much of his recent work since commencing with Proximity.

He has now relocated to his new principal residence back in Canberra, with occasional visits to his apartment in inner city Brisbane.
