Dwayne has wide-ranging commercial and contracting experience at several government agencies, including the Department of Health and the Department of Defence.
This experience has included advising on the procurement of goods and services for government and the development of contractual documents, funding agreements and MOUs.

This includes time as the Practice Group Leader for the Aged Care Law team at the Department of Health.
Dwayne has also managed the commercial law work for the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government and the Department of Family and Community Services.
Dwayne also has experience in the private sector as a lawyer and legal analyst in an IT firm.
Dwayne has a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University with majors in industrial relations and law in administration.
Dwayne and his partner Lisa can be seen regularly walking their golden retrievers and he may be found running, cycling, hiking or otherwise trying to keep active.
