Elizabeth is an experienced lawyer and family dispute resolution practitioner (FDRP).
Elizabeth focuses on resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation and other dispute resolution processes and has a strong record of settling matters without the need for litigation.
Where litigation has been necessary, Elizabeth has successfully represented clients in various courts, including drafting preparatory documentation and preparing briefs for counsel.
Elizabeth has appeared before the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court, the NSW and ACT Magistrates Courts and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (Social Services and Child Support Division).
Elizabeth is experienced in legal drafting, particularly of various applications, agreements, proposed orders, and pleadings; she has participated in mediations and conciliation conferences both as a mediator and as lawyer assisting.
Elizabeth has trained in principled negotiation, collaborative practice, mediation, and is a registered FDRP with the Attorney-General’s Department.
Elizabeth holds Working with Vulnerable People registration and an unrestricted practising certificate.
Elizabeth works as a Senior Advisor at Proximity and is experienced in a variety of areas, having spent over a decade in governance and consulting roles before practising law.
Elizabeth has undertaken various consulting engagements.
These have ranged from short term, discrete business transformation tasks to advising on large-scale investments, proactively consulting on troubled and contentious projects to minimise delivery risk, and recover projects at risk of failure.
Elizabeth is also experienced in the conduct of reviews, working collaboratively with clients to identify and develop solutions and strategies toward improvement or compliance.
Elizabeth currently balances her time between consulting and legal roles and contributes to Proximity’s commitment to community service and pro bono work through various volunteer roles.
Elizabeth holds Bachelor of Business (Finance) and Juris Doctor (Honours) degrees.
