Experience
Gordon has nearly 30 years’ experience as a senior commercial, government and workplace relations lawyer in the private and public sectors.
Gordon’s practice includes a strong focus on:
- Government procurement including review of contracts, probity advice and assessment of tenders
- Advice on interpretation and implementation of new Commonwealth legislation (e.g. the Work Health and Safety Act, National Disability Insurance Scheme Act and National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act)
- Workplace policies and procedures, investigations, dispute resolution and litigation
- Work health and safety law advice and litigation
Gordon has been an employment law partner in national law firms DLA Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal.
He has acted in workplace and industrial disputes, appeared regularly in state and federal industrial tribunals and has managed workers’ compensation litigation.
Gordon’s recent experience includes secondment as principal lawyer (corporate and commercial) for the National Disability Insurance Agency and more than two years of providing legal services to the Department of Social Services for the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.
