Experience
Greg has over 20 years’ experience in Commonwealth Senior Executive Service leadership roles. Governing and leading transformational change in large complex organisations, including Services Australia, Defence, Climate Change, Industry and The Treasury.
Greg led the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and Business Transformation in Services Australia – accountable for enterprise project and change management as well as the government approval and design of key digital transformations. He was also a member of Services Australia’s COVID-19 Command Centre.
Greg was the Group Business Manager of the $16b p.a., 5,500 strong Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) in Defence. This COO-like role led the re-integration of CASG back into Defence; collaboratively drove customer-centric reforms and increased the efficiency of delivery, specialist and enabling teams; improved relationships with customers and industry partners; improved staff professionalisation and safety across the group.
Greg joined Defence in 2014 as Head of Infrastructure. Greg was responsible for the $1.3 billion major estate developments to support new Defence capabilities, as well as major maintenance programs and estate disposals.
Greg has over 35 years of experience working in the Commonwealth Public Sector. Prior to working in Defence, Greg managed major government programs and whole-of-government change initiatives in Centrelink and the departments of Human Services, Treasury, Climate Change and Energy Efficiency and Industry. These programs have all been nationally focused and involved strategic transformation.
Greg has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematics) and a Masters of Business Administration. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Vincent Fairfax Fellow, completed the ANZSOG Executive Fellows Program, the Harvard Kennedy School’s National and International Security program for senior executives and the Advanced Management & Leadership Programme at Oxford Said Business School.
