James is a qualified lawyer and experienced commercial and strategic advisor and is highly regarded by clients for his practical and inclusive approach to developing solutions. His main area of specialisation is government contracting and procurement, including running end-to-end procurement processes, general contracting law, governance and probity.
He has played an important role in providing legal, procurement and commercial support on many of Australia’s largest projects, including major technology outsourcing and Defence capital acquisition projects.

James is married to Ali (who also works at Proximity) and has two sports mad boys, Jack and Charlie. When he is not scoring or timekeeping on the sidelines of Canberra’s sports fields, he enjoys spending time playing music in a local amateur ‘garage’ band.
