It is with tremendous pride that we announce that the Prime Minister has today appointed Kerri Hartland to the position of Director General of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS). Kerri will be leaving Proximity on 6 January 2023.
Kerri joined Proximity in August 2020 after a 30-year career in the APS. While we will miss having Kerri at Proximity, we understand that this role is of significant national importance and a once in a career opportunity.
Proximity’s transformation group and consulting capability has grown significantly over the past two years and Kerri has been a wonderful part of the team during this growth. Kerri has played a significant role in ensuring this team has a deep understanding of the workings of Government and in recruiting to Proximity other former senior public servants including most recently Elizabeth Langdon and Malcolm Thompson.
Under Kerri’s leadership, the transformation group has delivered many projects of national significance including; the implementation of the Jenkins review at Parliament House, a review of maritime and aviation security for Home Affairs, advice on organisational structure for the Department of Health and the strategy for the reopening of borders post-Covid closures.
Kerri leaves the transformation group in good hands with strong sector and practice leads who understand the importance of skilled people working on the essential issues of transformation. Paula Gonzalez will lead Proximity’s transformation group, who will continue to deliver outstanding organisational change and performance improvement outcomes for our clients
We know Kerri will be successful in her new role, and we thank her for her tremendous contributions to Proximity.
