Mashiat is a former government lawyer with over three years of experience delivering comprehensive legal advice to the Commonwealth.
She is a highly versatile advisor, providing strategic solutions to both federal and state government clients while effectively mitigating legal risk. Mashiat brings extensive experience in briefing external lawyers and excels in managing high-profile litigation matters.
Her deep knowledge of public law complements her ability to learn new skills, adapt easily and thrive in new environments. Mashiat understands the importance of robust in-house government legal practices and has been recognised with a 2024 Secretary’s award for incorporating innovative processes.
Mashiat is an admitted solicitor under the ACT Supreme Court. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canberra and a Bachelor of Criminology from Western Sydney University.
When her lawyer hat is off, Mashiat can be found in the kitchen experimenting with new flavours and cooking up a storm. In the warmer months, she likes to escape to the coast with her husband Dali and their fishing rods in tow.
