Sam has had a varied career across government and consulting, focusing on the intersection between social policy and social psychology, to measure what works in achieving strong outcomes for our community.
Sam has technical training in program evaluation, sociology and psychology, which enable her to provide rigorous and insightful assessments of the impact and value of strategies and interventions, and to provide actionable recommendations to strengthen policies, programs and organisations.
Sam spent her early career in policy development and advice across the areas of housing, demographics, research, grants, community building and the welfare safety net. Sam performed policy director roles for a number of years in the Commonwealth public sector, giving her a strong understanding of the evidentiary requirements for sound policy proposals, as well as the value of administrative datasets and strong management information to ensure policy outcomes can be accurately measured in the longer term.
Sam specialises in program evaluations for government, and has spent the last 8 years as a leader in providing methodologically rigorous evaluations for clients, and building strong capability across teams and organisations.
