Anthony Lawrie joined Proximity in November this year after a 20-year career working in and for government in Victoria and NSW.

Anthony has delivered policy and legislative reviews and reform in areas as diverse as major crime and terrorism, sentencing, asset confiscation, family violence, industrial manslaughter, summary offences, road safety, body-piercing, water entitlements, youth justice, prevention and early intervention, victim compensation, and child protection. Anthony has played a key role in establishing important institutions in Victoria, including the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission, The Orange Door family violence support services, the Environmental Water Holder and Fire Rescue Victoria. He also has experience working at both the Royal Commission into Family Violence and the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants.

After two decades in the public service, Anthony decided it was time to learn new skills, to see things from a different perspective, and to contribute to a safer, fairer, and more inclusive society in different ways. But he had to continue working with exceptional, generous people, in a positive, can-do culture, and on issues and projects with real impact and that make people’s lives better. This led him to Proximity, joining our Melbourne team.

Anthony is looking forward to working with clients to solve their trickiest problems, overcome their biggest challenges, and capitalise on their best opportunities. Connect with Anthony here.
